School Report Oct 27-31

  • Extra: Halloween parties galore! Carving pumpkins.
  • Field Trip: Eyring Science Center at BYU.
  • Gov/Election Unit: Learned about the judicial branch and colored/drew pictures of the Supreme Court.
  • Shakespeare: the Two Gentleman of Verona
  • History: We didn't get to our ancient history readings.
  • AO History: (Y1) read about Julius Caesar coming to Britain and about Regulus; (Y2) Charlemagne, started The Little Duke; (Y3) Our Island Story 62-71, TCCO ch. 6.
  • Miles (Preschool): played a lot! Nothing formal this week.
  • Amanda (1st grade): says her favorite thing she learned this week was about the Supreme Court. Helped cook waffles.
  • Hannah's Reading (3rd grade): The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (pg. 114), Five Little peppers (52). Hannah says her favorite part of school this week was assigned reading, she really likes her books!
  • Emily's Reading (4th/5th grade): reading Water Babies (194), Anne of Green Gables (128), Linnets and Valerians. Emily's favorite parts of school this week were reading Linnets and Valerians, Our Island Story, Anne of Green Gables and listening to Children of the New Forest.
  • Read aloud: The Golden Goblet (history), Charlotte's Web (Amanda), Misty of Chincoteague (Hannah), Children of the New Forest (Emily).
  • Gospel Study: Righteous Traditions (Sister Lant's talk, Ensign, May '08 Ensign); Book of Mormon Helaman 1-3.
